Getting ready for class

So here's a picture of one of my upcoming software classes. Creating lace in 5D Embroidery is really easy. Well once you get the hang of it. This is a sample for my February class. Theme....hearts. How appropriate!

Embroidery Club project

I've been working on a HV Embroidery Club project lately. It's a towel hanger with a colorful and festive looking selection of veggies on the top part of the towel. The really neat part of this towel hanger is that the towel actually detaches from the top (velcro) for washing. I guess I'm just way behind the times because I've never seen one like this. Anyway, one towel makes to projects and it was pretty easy to assemble. I'll be taking it to Viking Sew 'n Quilt for display and inspiration for others.

My other projects include a quilt that I'm hand sewing the binding to for a Christmas gift and I'm about to start a Railroad-Hobo quilt as my next project. I plan on using Civil War era fabrics for the Hobo quilt. The Hobo quilt will be an embroidery quilt and I'll post pictures as I complete the blocks.

Pictures in Embroidery

Wow, did I get off track last year. Has it really been 10 months since I last left a blog post? Perhaps I just can't decide where to write my musings? In any case, I decided this morning to commit to a twice a week blog. It will still just be ramblings on what I'm working on. Right now (and actually on my machine) is a Picture Stitch of Falls Park in Greenville. Given it has just about 100,000 stitches, it will be a couple of days before I can post a picture. Right now, it looks like it's coming together nicely. 5D PictureStitch does take a little finesse. It's learning how the computer program interprets the colors of your picture. More pixels are not necessarily better when it comes to PictureStitch. More on that later. For right now, I just wanted to get it on "paper" that I would be blogging at least twice a month. I'll be more committed to staying with it if I do that. I guess it just makes it more "real" for me!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to one and all. My new blog posts will be at my Mac (me.com) location. I have realized that I don't have the time to run two separate blogs and have decided to consolidate in 2010 and use my personal Mac web site for both my hobby and my other thoughts and ramblings. So here's the location for you to click on: http://web.me.com/bready/WebSite/Blog/Blog.html

Have a wonderful, happy and healthy 2010.
